Teen Poetry Slam to Focus on National Youth AIDS Awareness

YOUTH CRY TEEN SLAM: INJUSTICE IN THE CITY

Teens address past, current and future??? social and civic injustices through spoken word poetry during The Youth Cry!  Injustice In The City Poetry Slam.

Saturday, April 5, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

New Calvary Baptist Church

800 E. Virginia Beach Blvd,

Norfolk, VA 23504

The event will include live music, live performances with featured poets, musicians and a motivational speaker. 

Poets, ages 13-19 years old may compete. Group pieces are welcomed.  Competing poets/groups limited to the first 12 to register to compete!  There will be cash prizes for top ranking poets or group pieces.  The winning poet or group will appear at the 2014 Hampton Roads Youth Poetry Grand Slam at Norfolk Stage University College on Saturday, April, 26th.

This event is free and open to the public, so come out and support our youth as they let their voice be heard!
