The Up Center Joins National #GivingTuesday Movement to Encourage Spending With a Purpose
One day only – donors can double their impact
The Up Center has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
Giving Tuesday is a way that millions worldwide kickoff the giving season right, by giving to some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Taking place December 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – a generous supporter will match gifts made to The Up Center, up to $2000.
The Up Center offers help to people who have experienced horrible trauma, individuals who have been overwhelmed with crisis, children who have never been given a chance.
- $20 can provide two Parents as Teacher meetings for children living in poverty.
- $50 can provide a hot meal for 21 Face Forward participants.
- $75 can provide two weeks of home visits for children and young mothers.
- $200 can open our food pantry for our underserved neighbors.
