Kindness is Contagious

During the quarantine in Barcelona, Spain, a pianist went to his balcony to play “My Heart Will Go On” for his neighborhood. After he started, a saxophone player in the building next door joined him.

Simple acts of kindness are needed now, more than ever.  Here are some examples of how you can be kind during this crisis:

  • Leave “sanitized” supplies for UPS, FedEx, USPS and Amazon drivers such as water bottles, Gatorade, individually wrapped snacks, cans of soup and rolls of toilet paper
  • Order a delivery meal for a neighbor
  • Buy gift cards from local businesses
  • Tip delivery drivers generously
  • Clean a shared living space
  • Instacart or online shop for a high-risk person
  • Leave thank you notes for your postal worker
  • Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while
  • Foster an animal
  • Mail a letter
  • Check in with a friend or family member in the health care field
  • Set up a video call with a friend group
  • Bring diapers and wipes to new parents
  • Bring a puzzle or paint-by-numbers picture to families with school age children
  • Play virtual games with family and friends
