Youth Counseling

Youth Counseling

In addition to a range of family and child counseling services, as well as parent education and support, The Up Center offers the following services for youth experiencing difficult challenges in the home and/or community.

INTENSIVE IN-HOME SERVICES

Our Intensive In-Home Services are home-based, family-focused interventions for youth from ages 3 to 21 with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who may be returning home from foster care or residential treatment. These services are designed to help the family build support, stability, and effective skills and tools in order to meet the youth’s needs and keep the family together.

BEHAVIOR AIDES

CHILDREN WITH PROBLEMATIC SEXUAL BEHAVIOR

The Up Center offers community based treatment services to children and youth who have a history of problematic sexual behavior. Under the supervision of a CSOTP, services are provided using a trauma informed approach. Through the use of individualized treatment planning, modalities such as Psychosexual Assessments, Outpatient Therapy and Intensive In-Home Services, services aim to create a balance of community safety and healing.

MENTAL HEALTH SKILL-BUILDING SERVICES

This service provides one-to-one assistance to adolescents age 16 and older, with severe emotional or mental health diagnoses. Our Mental Health Skill-Building clinicians function similarly to life coaches, assisting youth who are living independently or transitioning to independent living with maintaining stability in their homes by providing training in skills such as independent living, anger management, impulse control and social interaction.
