Youth Counseling

Youth Counseling

In addition to a range of family and child counseling services, as well as parent education and support, The Up Center offers the following services for high risk youth.

INTENSIVE IN-HOME COUNSELING

Our Intensive In-Home Counseling services are home-based, family-focused interventions for children from ages 3 to 21 with emotional difficulties who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who may be returning home from foster care or residential treatment.

BEHAVIOR AIDES

The Up Center’s Behavior Aides mentor children and adolescents to develop skills such as problem solving, conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction.

CHILDREN WITH PROBLEMATIC SEXUAL BEHAVIOR

The Up Center offers community based treatment services to children and youth who have a history of problematic sexual behavior. Under the supervision of a CSOTP, services are provided using a trauma informed approach. Through the use of individualized treatment planning, modalities such as Psychosexual Assessments, Outpatient Therapy and Intensive In Home Services, aim to create a balance of community safety and healing.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT SERVICES

This service provides one-to-one assistance to adolescents age 16 and older, with severe emotional or mental health diagnoses. Our Mental Health Support clinicians function similarly to life coaches, assisting youth in maintaining stability in their homes by providing training in skills such as independent living, anger management, impulse control and social interaction.
