Nearly anyone—single or married, young or old, retired or working—can change a child’s life by being a foster parent. All that’s needed is a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.
The Up Center needs the following:
- Regular Foster Parents to open their homes to children and adolescents with minimal special needs
- Therapeutic Foster Parents to provide specialized parenting for children and youth with special needs—children who have not thrived in regular foster care
- Respite Foster Parents to provide a reprieve to other foster parents when they need to take a temporary break
- Foster-to-Adopt Parents to foster and then possibly adopt their foster child
The Up Center offers training classes, as well as 24-hour support and financial compensation. There are no fees involved with becoming a foster parent.

“You have the opportunity to impact another human being, and that impact can be generational if you think about that child having children and then those children having children.”
