Foster Parenting
Nearly anyone—single or married, young or old, retired or working—can change a child’s life by being a foster parent. All that’s needed is a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.
The Up Center needs the following:
- Regular Foster Parents to open their homes to children and adolescents with minimal special needs
- Therapeutic Foster Parents to provide specialized parenting for children and youth with special needs—children who have not thrived in regular foster care
- Respite Foster Parents to provide a reprieve to other foster parents when they need to take a temporary break
- Foster-to-Adopt Parents to foster and then possibly adopt their foster child
The Up Center offers training classes, as well as 24-hour support and financial compensation. There are no fees involved with becoming a foster parent. To read more about foster and adoptive parenting, click here to read about some of our agency's success stories.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please take a moment to read our Frequently Asked Questions (faqs) about Foster Parenting and complete our foster parent inquiry form. Or, contact Christa Paulosky at 757.965.8670.
